What Is Nano Coating?

This is also known as the application of the antimicrobial coating and provides the same meaning as the nano coating even though the application and the effectiveness of other antimicrobial coatings available in the market are doubtful and useless when comparing to the Nanopac's antimicrobial coating solutions. Zavvers with the collaboration of Nanopac Australia would like to introduce all our people in the Perth region, safer, affordable and long-lasting antimicrobial coating solutions that are easily applied to any surface or fabric. Water-based, non-toxic antimicrobial coating solutions are used to minimize the presence of harmful microbial contaminants in a variety of industries, such as healthcare, sports, education, hospitality, and military.

With the use of an electrostatic spraying system, a thin layer of TiO2 (Titanium Dioxide) is applied to the surface. This protective coating is highly transparent and would hardly be able to notice or feel of its existence on surfaces once it has been applied. exposed to the sunlight or to the fluorescent light and it uses water or oxygen in the air to form activated oxygen (oxidizer). This powerful oxidizer breaks down airborne toxins and decomposes germs, bacteria, fungi, moulds, and other harmful pollutants such as VOCs (volatile organic compounds). The by-product is harmless- water and carbon dioxide.

These photocatalytic antimicrobial solutions have a long history of successful use on virtually any surface or fabric imaginable that is constantly been highly used. The Coating products have been used to create antimicrobial barriers. The Coating would combat the growth of bacteria, mold, and fungi on surfaces ranging from synthetic turf to gym equipment. Photocatalytic, uses the power of visible and ultraviolet light to generate strong, localized oxidizers on treated surfaces that, in turn, destroy components of bacteria, viruses, and fungi, rendering the surfaces 99.9% less microbial contaminated than ordinary surfaces. Nano-coatings breaks down toxic chemicals leaving the air clean.

The specialty of these Nano solutions is, unlike most other antibacterial solutions and sanitizers available in the market, the Zavvers Nano Photocatalytic Coatings keep on working for at least up to 2 years (depends on each solution) on treated surfaces, maintaining 99.9% sterilizing efficiency (which can be proven) at all times but only with a single time of application. Other products which are available in the market just mask smells and kill bugs, but the surface only remains disinfected only until touched. They need constant repeat applications especially after when someone has used or worked on those treated surfaces and you still expect those surfaces to be sterilized. In other words, more frequent applications mean more consumption of the solution which leads towards more spending money on chemicals.

What is Photocatalyst Effect?

Photo-Catalysis is defined as "acceleration by the presence of a catalyst". A catalyst does not change in itself or being consumed in the chemical reaction.
This definition includes photosensitization, a process by which a photochemical alteration occurs in one molecular entity as a result of initial absorption of radiation by another molecular entity called the photosensitized.  

Chlorophyll of plants is a type of photocatalyst. Photocatalysis compared to photosynthesis, in which chlorophyll captures sunlight to turn water and carbon dioxide into oxygen and glucose, photocatalysis creates strong oxidation agent to breakdown any organic matter to carbon dioxide and water in the presence of photocatalyst, light, and water.

The nanopac self-cleaning and surface protection has developed using combination of nano and photocatalyst technology. The most common application process is simply just spraying the nano-coating on to the surface using an aerostatic sprayer but, there is another option available for newly constructing buildings, which is to use powder version of nano-self cleaning solution mix with cement and do the construction as usual (see the video). 


Either way the using of nano-self cleaning and surface protection solution on your properties will bring diversified excellent features to the building. This treatment not only for vehicles or for buildings but also, this can be applied on road and road side to provide the self-cleaning & surface protection function to roads and public properties. Change the way you clean...

When you use Nano protective coating, it becomes much easier to clean. When use the aerostatic sprayer to apply the Ti02 coating, Nano particles penetrate, fill and spread over the surface giving a smooth protective film layer. Any pollutant and dust particles sitting on top of the film will simply wash away with water, even without any scrubbing! This making cleaning much faster as you're not spending time to remove dirt from micro holes on the surface that cling onto dirt. This prolongs the life span of your valuables because you're not constantly wearing away at it when cleaning. Coating not only protects from water damage but also protects against the harsh Australian UV rays and weather conditions.

Nano protective coating is invisible to the naked eye. Nanotechnology, which is the cornerstone of the Nano coating, consists of ultra-small Nano particles that are 80,000 times smaller than a strand of human hair. This is also the reason why Nano products do not affect the appearance of any surfaces

A perfect water repellant....! 

Nano product’s mimic nature owns lotus effect which means water automatically bead off the surface. It also protects against water damage and allows you to easily wash away any dirt particles sitting on top.


 When the surface of photocatalytic film is exposed to light, the contact angle of the photocatalytic surface with water is reduced gradually. After enough exposure to light, the surface reaches super-hydrophilic. In other words, it does not repel water at all, so water cannot exist in the shape of a drop, but spreads flatly on the surface of the substrate. And the water took the form of a highly uniform thin film, which behaves optically like a clear sheet of glass.


The hydrophilic nature of titanium dioxide, coupled with the gravity, will enable the dust particles to be swept away following the water stream, thus making the product self-cleaning. Once use Nano coating products, it has the  capability to reduce overall cleaning time by up to 90%, using less water to clean, reduces the use of chemical detergents, saving the time and money.
